Psalm 25 (Make Me To Know Your Ways)

I love Psalm 25.

Unlike David, I have no human enemies seeking to kill me. But I do have an adversary who comes to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10), who "prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour" (1 Pet 5:8).

When I'm tempted, this song has often been my prayer. I love its richness: pleading for help, praising God's faithfulness, and depending on his mercy.

"Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way." (Ps 25:8-9, ESV).

Praise God! He really does.

Lord, I lift up my soul, Oh my God, to You and I call out your name Don't let my enemies triumph over me they would put me to shame

Remember your mercy, Lord and your steadfast love as in the ancient days and in your steadfast love, oh, forget my sins; make me to know Your ways!

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths, for You are the God of my salvation

For the sake of Your name, O Lord pardon all my sins take all my guilt away You will lead sinners who turn with humble hearts into Your righteous way

Whoever fears You, Lord will become Your friend knowing Your covenant All of Your paths, O Lord Bloom with steadfast love; and with Your faithfulness

I wait for You (oh, guard my soul) I hope in You (deliver me)
