Psalm 146 (Put Not Your Trust in Man)
Believers are constantly tempted to trust in someone or something other than God. In Israel's day, it was "a king like the nations" to fight their battles. But their kings were always disappointing.
In my life, I've seen pastors, musicians, and political leaders fail and fall. I've failed and fallen myself.
But the Lord has always kept his promises, and he always will. Set your hope on him alone and preach to your soul along with the psalmist.
"Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God" (Psalm 146:5, ESV).

Put not your trust in man in whom there is no salvation He turns to dust; his plans perish with him
Blessed is the one whose hope is in the God of Jacob Maker of heav'n and earth Faithful is he!
Praise the Lord, oh my soul; all your praises give I will sing praise to God as long as I shall live as long as I shall live
The Lord sets the prisoner free He lifts up the weak and fatherless The Lord makes the blind to see and saves the oppressed
The Lord is the righteous judge who watches over foreigners The way of the just he loves; the wicked he ruins
The Lord will reign forever through every generation The Lord keeps faith forever; praise the Lord!
